Air pollution is a serious health and environmental issue here in metro Atlanta. Herbert Emissions is a Georgia state vehicle inspection and emissions testing facility working in partnership with the Georgia Clean Air Force. Although industrial and commercial industry generates air pollution that is coming under stringent government regulation and control, a significant amount of pollution is produced from damaged and aging gasoline powered cars and trucks. Georgia’s emissions inspection and vehicle maintenance programs have been designed to help identify and correct these higher-polluting automobiles using a large network of emissions testing facilities throughout the state. Our state-of-the-art service facilities are designed to inspect and test cars and light trucks in just 5 minutes or less, allowing our clients to keep with their busy schedules moving forward.
The fuel system provides power to your engine. After about 4,000 to 5,000 miles of driving, dirt, varnishes and carbon deposits form in the fuel system, on the intake valves and in the combustion chamber. These buildups reduce performance, and left untreated, can lead to costly engine repairs. The Service is a multi-step process that cleans the fuel system, including injectors. The cleaning system removes fuel varnish build-up, intake valve and cylinder head deposits, lead, and harmful carbon deposits. It utilizes a unique cleaning solution that will not damage the vehicle’s engine components.
Does your vehicle need a fuel and emissions cleaning?
Manufacturers have yet to include fuel & emissions cleaning in their maintenance schedules. However, a vehicle can lose up to 15% of its original efficiency after only 30,000 miles due to carbon buildup. For optimum performance and minimum emissions, most manufacturers of fuel and emissions system cleaners recommend the service be performed at least once a year, with a booster treatment used at every oil change.

The PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve and breather element work together in the vehicle’s emissions control system. The PCV valve regulates the flow of gases to the intake manifold. The breather element, or crankcase breather, keeps foreign particles from entering the crankcase. They work together to keep gases and vapors from being expelled through the exhaust, reducing vehicle emissions. The PCV valve and breather element keep your vehicle running cleaner and help reduce sludge and contaminant buildup. During the service the PCV valve and breather element are removed and inspected. If the mileage interval and/or condition indicates replacement, new components are installed.
